Nabil Fekir: Liverpool and Chelsea transfer target in advanced talks about Lyon contract extension
Nabil Fekir is in talks about extending his contract, Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has confirmed. The 25-year-old has scored 11 goals in 24 Ligue 1 and Champions League appearances this season, with his latest strike, in the 2-1 win against Guingamp, being a goal of the season contender.Fekir was close to joining Liverpool in a 53m transfer last summer, but the deal collapsed and he was also linked with Chelsea. His current deal expires in 2020 and Aulas explained discussions about an extension are advanced.“We have made some advances in Fekirs contract extension,” he said.Lyon ace Fekir could have moved to the Premier League last summer1

“We are discussing it and soon Ill have to see Nabil, we arent in the final stages but in any case we have advanced. In 2018, talks with Liverpool were understood to be so far down the line, the player had even selected a shirt number to wear.It was understood he was set to sign a five-year deal worth 140,000-a-week – a considerable bump on his current 65,000-a-week pay packet, but less than team-mate Memphis Depay.Tottenham have also been credited with interest in Fekir, who could replace Christian Eriksen should Spurs sell their playmaker in the summer.
