Tottenham Hotspur new stadium: Spurs yet to tell Premier League when they plan to move into ground
Tottenham Hotspur have not informed the Premier League over the opening date of their new stadium as fears they will not move into the ground until next season increase.Spurs have been refused the option of opening the stadium against Arsenal on March 2 as Metropolitan Police chiefs do not want the first match to be a north London derby due to security fears.A view of Tottenham’s new stadium on January 30, 20191

The next available match after the visit of Arsenal comes when Crystal Palace make the short trip to north London on March 17, and that is the date Tottenham had pencilled in as a potential opener. However, that fixture could be rearranged should Palace make it to the FA Cup quarter-finals; Roy Hodgson’s side have a fifth round trip to Doncaster making such an outcome likely. And due to the inability to confirm which match will be the official opener, Spurs have yet to tell the Premier League when they plan to move into their new stadium, the Daily Mail report. The next home match after Palace’s visit is not until April, when Spurs host Brighton. And the report claims Premier League bosses will not be pleased should Tottenham announce another delay, especially as they only have three more home matches scheduled after Brighton for the remainder of the season. It is believed rival chiefs will stress that letting Spurs move into the ground for such a short length of time could ‘impact on the integrity of the competition’.Neil Warnock, the Cardiff manager, has already expressed his belief that Spurs should be forced to remain playing at their temporary home of Wembley for the end of 2018/19 so the Bluebirds’ relegation rivals are not given a potential advantage. The league should enforce they play at Wembley for the rest of the season, Warnock said earlier this month.

Brighton visit Spurs on April 6, with just three other teams playing at Tottenham before the end of the Premier League season...
  • Tottenham vs HUDDERSFIELD (April 13)
  • Tottenham vs WEST HAM (April 27)
  • Tottenham vs EVERTON (May 12)
There shouldnt be any chance of an advantage for our opponents. Its not our fault we should have been playing at the new stadium ourselves.I think they should step in now and rather than seven or six weeks, they should make it until the end of the season now and enforce it now.Tottenham were meant to move into their new stadium last September, but various delays due to safety issues mean it is has still not officially opened.
